Required Documents For Number Porting

LOA template + English guides (.zip) are attached at the bottom of this guide.

✅ Local Numbers

  • Signed LOA (signed by an authorized company representative; address must match provider’s records)

  • Recent invoice (dated within the last 30 days, showing number and account holder)

  • Migration Code (must be requested from your current provider; required to process the port)

Compliance:

  • Company representative’s ID (passport or national ID)

  • Tax ID (Codice Fiscale)

  • Company details (legal name, VAT number, Italian address)

✅ Toll-Free Numbers

  1. Signed LOA (address in Italy not required)

  2. VAT number (11-digit standard VAT or 16-character codice fiscale)

  3. Invoice or official ownership proof

Toll-free number must be with a supported carrier - porting is not available for all providers.

Porting Process Overview

  1. Submit Your Porting Request
Send your request to the CloudTalk Porting Team to begin the process.

  2. Initial Review
Cloudtalk team'll verify number portability and confirm the next steps.

  3. Documentation Collection
Complete and sign the LOA (Letter of Authorization), and provide a recent invoice from your current telecom provider.

  4. Submission to Carrier
CloudTalk submits your request to our partner carrier, who then forwards it to your current provider.

  5. Approval or Rejection

    • If approved, Cloudtalk team will confirm the porting date (typically 2–4 business days in advance).

    • If rejected, Cloudtalk team will share the reason and guide you on how to correct and resubmit the request.

Common Rejection Reasons

Issue

Explanation

How to Fix

Missing Migration Code

Mandatory for all local number ports in Italy

Contact your provider and request the migration code

Mismatched Information

Address, name, or number doesn’t match provider file

Double-check all fields and update LOA/invoice if needed

Unauthorized Signer

LOA not signed by a recognized contact

Use the authorized account owner or company legal representative

Inactive Number

Number has been suspended or deactivated

Reactivate it before submitting the porting request

Ineligible Toll-Free

Toll-free number is not with Wind Tre

Porting not possible unless with that specific carrier

On Porting Day

  • The number is activated in your CloudTalk account

  • Your former provider deactivates the number

  • CloudTalk billing begins the same day

  • We recommend notifying your previous provider to prevent duplicate charges
