This guide explains how CloudTalk works once your Close integration is connected. You’ll learn how calls, SMS messages, contact activities, and recording links sync between the two platforms, and how your team can use CloudTalk when placing calls from Close.
User level: Admin
What Close + CloudTalk can do
Once you integrate CloudTalk with Close, you can:
Import your existing Close contacts into CloudTalk
Keep contacts updated through regular 2-way synchronization
Automatically log all calls and SMS messages to Close
Use click-to-call in Close to call through CloudTalk
Assign call activities to the correct Close users
✅ Initial Contact Import
Once the integration is activated, CloudTalk performs an initial import of your Close Contacts.
Imported data includes:
Name
Phone numbers
Email addresses
Important limitations: Contacts must have at least one phone number or email. If a Close Contact has neither, CloudTalk cannot create the contact.
✅ Ongoing 15-minute sync
CloudTalk checks for changes in Close every 15 minutes.
What gets updated:
New contacts created in Close
Existing contacts that were edited
How the sync behaves:
CloudTalk either adds new contacts or updates existing ones
Contacts are never removed during sync
Everything happens quietly in the background, so your team always works with up‑to‑date information
✅ Call Activity Export
When calls are made or received using CloudTalk, they are automatically logged in Close as activities.
Each call activity includes:
Direction (inbound / outbound)
Duration
Timestamp
CloudTalk number used
Customer phone number
Assigned agent (matched by email)
Call notes
Tags
Recording link
✅ SMS Activity Export
SMS messages sent or received in CloudTalk appear in Close as SMS activities.
Included details:
Direction
Timestamp
Message content
Assigned user
✅ Click-to-Call in Close
All phone numbers inside Close become clickable.
Clicking a number launches CloudTalk and places the call instantly.
This reduces manual dialing and speeds up daily workflows.
