If you've used the Power Dialer or an earlier version of the AI Sales Dialer, here's what changes when your account moves to the new AI Sales Dialer, and how to make the transition smooth.

The one thing to know first

⚠️ Your existing campaigns are not automatically copied over. The new AI Sales Dialer runs on a completely separate system. When your account is enabled, you recreate your campaigns in the new dialer.

This is intentional: it keeps your data clean and lets you take advantage of the new setup options from the start (source prioritization, outcome-typed dispositions, campaign scheduling, and more).

Here's what that means in practice:

  • Your contacts, tags, and CRM connections are unchanged. Rebuilding a campaign is fast because you point it at the same audience: the same tags or CRM lists you already use.

  • Your old campaigns keep running on the legacy system until their contacts are worked through, then wind down. Nothing is deleted out from under you.

  • Historical stats and call history from old campaigns stay on the legacy views. New campaigns start with fresh statistics.

  • There is no data migration, no import, and no automatic switchover. You control when you start using the new dialer.

How the switch happens

  1. CloudTalk enables the new AI Sales Dialer for your account (this is a per-account rollout).

  2. In the CloudTalk Phone app, you'll see a Dialer option with a New badge and the subtitle "Try the new dialer" under Campaign dialers. Click it to open the new dialer.

  3. You recreate your active campaigns in the new dialer. See Setting up a campaign in the AI Sales Dialer for the full walkthrough.

  4. You run new calls through the new dialer. Old campaigns drain naturally on the legacy system.

  5. Over time, legacy campaign creation is turned off for your account.

What's better in the new dialer

  • No double-dialing. The contact queue never serves the same contact to two agents at the same time, even under heavy load.

  • Multi-number contacts. When "Rotate through a contact's phone numbers" is enabled, the dialer tries each number on the contact's record across retries. A contact isn't marked unreachable just because their first number didn't pick up.

  • Dedicated statistics. A campaign statistics view with a conversion funnel, disposition breakdown, talking vs. ringing time, and exports, all in one place. See Campaign statistics, call history and exports.

  • Dispositions with outcome types. Each disposition carries a type (Successful Positive Outcome, Successful Negative Outcome, Rescheduled, Failed Call Later, Failed No Retry) that controls what happens to the contact next. Outcomes flow straight into your reports and CRM through integration mappings you set during campaign setup. See Dispositions and outcomes.

  • Voicemail drop. Leave a pre-recorded voicemail with one click and move to the next call instantly. In parallel mode, voicemail detection filters machines automatically.

  • Scheduled callbacks. Set a time to call someone back, with a note. The dialer brings them back to your queue when it's due. Favorite and rescheduled contacts always jump ahead of retries and fresh contacts. See Scheduled callbacks.

  • Contact-source prioritization. Drag your tags and CRM lists into a ranked order to control who gets called first within each tier. See How contacts are prioritized.

  • Conversational Intelligence. When Conversational Intelligence is enabled, past calls show AI-generated summaries, topic extraction, and sentiment analysis in the Activity section, giving agents instant context before dialing a contact again. See Conversational Intelligence in the AI Sales Dialer.

  • Seven campaign tabs. Details, Disposition settings, Statistics, Contacts, Call history, Survey Answers, and Scheduled Calls, all in one place per campaign.

  • Duplicating campaigns. Copy an existing campaign's settings with one click and point it at a new audience. See Duplicating a campaign.

  • Call transfers. Cold, warm, and safe transfers work the same way as in the Power Dialer. See Call Transfers.

⚠️ The Power Dialer is being retired and will not receive new features. The AI Sales Dialer covers campaign dialing going forward. If you rely on a specific Power Dialer capability that you're not sure the new dialer covers, talk to your account manager before switching so you can confirm coverage.

FAQs

  • Do I lose my old call recordings?
No. Recordings, call history, and stats from your old campaigns remain accessible on the legacy views. They are not deleted when the new dialer is enabled.

  • Can I run old and new campaigns at the same time?
Yes. During the transition period your old campaigns keep running on the legacy system while you create and run new ones on the AI Sales Dialer. There's no conflict between them.

  • Do I need to re-import my contacts?
No. Your contacts and tags already exist in CloudTalk. When you set up a new campaign, you point it at the tags or CRM lists your contacts already carry. No CSV re-import needed.

  • Will my CRM integration still work?
Yes. Dispositions in the new dialer sync to your CRM through integration mappings you configure during campaign setup (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho). See the CRM-specific articles for details.

  • What if I have agents on both the old and new system?
That's expected during the transition. Agents see only the campaigns assigned to them, and old vs. new campaigns live in separate views. There's no overlap or confusion in what an agent sees.

  • How do I access the new dialer?
In the CloudTalk Phone app, look for the Dialer option with a New badge under Campaign dialers. If you don't see it, your account hasn't been enabled yet. Contact your account manager.
