From 17 October 2026, commercial calls to consumers in Spain must come from a number starting with 400. CloudTalk can provide 400 numbers for your outbound sales calls.
What is changing
A Spanish regulation (BOE-A-2026-8409) reserves the 400 range (400 XXX XXX) for commercial calls. From 17 October 2026, companies covered by the rule can make commercial calls in Spain only from a 400 number, and carriers can block commercial calls from other numbers. 400 numbers work differently from regular numbers:- Outbound only. You can make calls from a 400 number, but it can’t receive calls. Customers can’t call it back.
- Commercial calls only. Use them for sales and marketing calls, not for customer care.
Your existing Spanish geographic, national, and toll-free numbers stay valid for customer-care calls and for receiving calls. You only need a 400 number for outbound commercial calls.
