The CloudTalk MCP server connects AI assistants like Claude and Cursor to your CloudTalk account. Once connected, you can ask the assistant in plain language to search calls, read transcripts, update contacts, send SMS, or build AI Voice Agents.
User level: Admin

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants work with business tools. You connect CloudTalk once, and the assistant can then use CloudTalk on your behalf. For example, you could ask: “Summarize yesterday’s calls with Acme and tag the ones that mention pricing.” Your AI app asks you to approve actions that send, dial, or change data before they run, unless you or an admin let a tool run without asking. The assistant can’t delete contacts, calls, or recordings.

Who can use it

MCP is available on the Essential plan and higher. Some tools need more:
  • AI insights (summaries, sentiment, topics, transcripts) require Conversation Intelligence.
  • Campaign tools require the new Sales Dialer add-on.

Which AI assistants work today

There are two ways to connect, and CloudTalk supports both:
  • Sign in with CloudTalk: you sign in with your CloudTalk admin account and approve the access. No key to copy, and the assistant acts as you.
  • API key: you paste a CloudTalk API key into the assistant’s settings. The assistant acts as your company.

How to connect

Sign in with CloudTalk:
  1. In your AI assistant, add a custom connector with the server URL https://mcp.cloudtalk.io. Keep the sign-in (OAuth) option the assistant suggests.
  2. Click Connect, sign in with your CloudTalk admin account, and approve the access.
  3. Ask your assistant something about your CloudTalk account to check it works.
API key:
  1. Create an API key in the Dashboard under Settings > API Keys. See How to access and generate your CloudTalk API keys.
  2. Add the CloudTalk MCP server to your AI assistant, using your API key.
  3. Ask your assistant something about your CloudTalk account to check it works.
The MCP Quickstart has the step-by-step setup for each assistant.
Only users with the Admin role can connect by signing in. An API key gives the assistant access to your whole company account: treat it like a password, and delete it in the Dashboard to cut off access (it can take a few minutes to take effect). To end a sign-in connection, disconnect the connector in your assistant.
