To use a Cisco IP phone with CloudTalk, the device must be either brand new (out of the box) or factory reset. All previous files and configurations need to be removed.
Factory Reset (Most Cisco IP Phones)
Press and hold #, then power cycle the phone.
When the LED starts flashing, release # and enter one of the following reset codes:
Soft Reset (delete files):
123456789*0#
Hard Reset (format flash):
3491672850*#
The phone will display Upgrading and erase its configuration.
If the soft reset doesn’t work, try the hard reset.
Find Your Phone’s IP Address
You’ll need the IP address to access the phone’s web interface.
Cisco SPA series phones:
Press the Setup button.
Scroll to Network and press Select.
Scroll to Current IP — this is your phone’s IP address.
Alternative method: Press Setup, enter 110
, then press #. The phone will announce the IP address — works on older firmware.
Access the Web Interface
On your PC, open Internet Explorer (other browsers may not be fully supported).
Enter the phone’s IP address into the browser toolbar.
You’ll see four main tabs in the interface:
Voice – Includes sub-tabs:
Info: System and phone information (read-only). Also allows configuring password and network settings.
Phone: Screen saver settings.
User: Call forwarding, speed dials, call waiting, privacy, and audio settings.
Call History – Displays calls made and received.
Personal Directory – Your phone address book.
Attendant Console Status – For Cisco SPA 500S consoles (if installed).
Configure CloudTalk Credentials
You can find your SIP login details in the Dashboard → Users → Edit User → SIP login details.
Server:
sip-global.cloudtalk.io
Inside the web interface, go to:
Basic Settings → Ext 1
Enter your CloudTalk SIP login credentials (Username, Password, Server) in the relevant fields.
Important: Features supported by the phone (e.g., speed dial, forwarding) must be configured manually in the phone’s interface.
