CloudTalk allows you to compile a blacklist of phone numbers so that you can block any unsolicited calls when they try to contact your call center.

You can add any phone numbers to your blacklist, for example:

  • bots

  • annoying vendors

  • persistent telemarketers

  • spam callers

How to add number to the blacklist

First, in the Dashboard, go to Account - Settings - Blacklist.

After you click on Change, press the button +Add Phone Number in the top right corner.

To add the phone number into your blacklist, please select the country area code and enter the phone number in its basic format (e.g. 949111222). After that, you can select whether you want to block the number for inbound or outbound calls, or for both.

Then, click Save and blacklist will protect you from unsolicited phone calls.

Note: There is currently no limit to the amount of calls you can add to your blacklist.

Maintaining your Blacklist via automations or external sources- for customers familiar with using API

In some typical use cases, executing manual changes is not desired or possible. For such situations, CloudTalk gives it users the option to manage numbers within their blacklist through CloudTalk API. Through Blacklist API it is possible to:

  • Review blacklisted numbers

  • Add new numbers to your blacklist

  • Edit configurations of numbers on your blacklist

  • Delete numbers from your blacklist

Find more information about details of these endpoints here.

💡TIP: Using a combination of API 'Add number to blacklist endpoint' and CloudTalk's Workflow Automation feature, users can automatically blacklist numbers where a CloudTalk campaign call resulted in a particular call disposition, such as “Do not call again”.
