To make sure that your sound settings are compatible with using CloudTalk, you may need to configure your sound devices, your operating system and the CloudTalk app itself.
Configuring your operating system
Windows 7
Open the Control Panel
Click on Hardware and Sound
Click on Sound
Under the individual tabs, check the hardware used for playing and recording sound and set the desired hardware as your default one
Windows 10
Access Settings in the Start menu
Click on System
Click on Sound
Under Related Settings, open the Sound control panel
Under the individual tabs, check the hardware used for playing and recording sound and set the desired hardware as your default one
Mac OS
Open System Settings
Click on Sound
Check the output and input items and select the desired device from the list
Configuring VOIP phone
Software VOIP phones include items for audio devices in their settings. Check whether your required devices are selected.
Configuring CloudTalk Phone web application
Open the app and go to Profile (icon in the bottom-left corner).
Click on Microphone & Speakers and choose the desired microphone and speakers.
Click on Start test call. This will immediately check whether your selected settings work fine.
Ringing Strategy
CloudTalk allows you to configure how incoming call ringtones are played, even when a headset is connected.
To set this up:
Open the CloudTalk app and go to Settings.
Navigate to Microphone and Speakers to select the desired input/output devices for calls.
For ringtones, go to the Notifications section and select a different output device (e.g., your computer speakers instead of your headset).
