> Follow the step-by-step instructions in our [Configure Salesloft](/en/articles/5890178-configure-salesloft.md) guide.

## Calling from Salesloft

Before you begin, ensure that **3rd Party Dialer Settings** are enabled in your Salesloft account. To do this, contact your Salesloft Customer Success Manager and request that the setting be activated.

**Once 3rd-Party Dialer Settings are enabled:**

1. Log into your Salesloft account and navigate to **Settings -> Dialer**.

2. Configure your **Settings** in such a way that they match the below screenshot, afterwards clicking **`Save`**.

## Call Logging and Data Exchange

### Contact Sync

Contacts are imported from Salesloft when you first connect the integration. After the initial import, any new or updated contacts in either CloudTalk or Salesloft are synchronized immediately when changes are saved.

Each imported Salesloft contact receives a `salesloft` tag in CloudTalk, and a link to the Salesloft person profile is available directly from the CloudTalk contact profile.

Contacts are merged when multiple Salesloft persons share the same phone number, email address, or name. See [Merging Contacts](/en/articles/5639498-contact-merging.md) for details.

#### Field mapping: CloudTalk Call to Salesloft Call Activity

| **CloudTalk Contact** | **Salesloft Person** |
| - | - |
| Name | First & Last Name |
| Phones | Public, Home & Mobile Numbers |
| Emails | Email Address |
| Tags | `salesloft` and all Salesloft person tags |
| Title | / |
| Company | Related Account Name |
| Industry | Related Account Industry |
| Website | Related Account Website |
| Address | Related Account Street |
| City | Related Account City |
| Zip | Related Account Zip Code |
| State | Related Account State |
| Country | / |
| Favorite agent | Person owner (if owner's email is also a CloudTalk agent email) |

### Call Logging and Export

After a call ends in CloudTalk, a Call Activity is created in Salesloft and linked to the associated person and account.

You can limit which calls are exported by assigning specific CloudTalk numbers in the **[Connected Numbers](/en/articles/5890178-configure-salesloft.md#:~:text=save%20your%20authentication.-,Additional%20Tips,-To%20only%20log)** section of the integration settings.

> [!TIP]
>
> **Note**: calls do not currently appear in the dedicated Calls section of Salesloft. This is a Salesloft platform limitation. If you'd like this to change, contact Salesloft directly to request the feature.

Inbound missed calls are assigned to the Salesloft user who initially added the integration, as missed calls do not have an assigned agent in CloudTalk.

### SMS

After an SMS is sent or received in CloudTalk, a Note is created in Salesloft and linked to the associated person and account.

You can limit which SMS messages are exported by assigning specific CloudTalk numbers in the [Connected Numbers for SMS section](/en/articles/5890178-configure-salesloft.md#:~:text=save%20your%20authentication.-,Additional%20Tips,-To%20only%20log) of the integration settings.

Inbound SMS notes are always assigned to the user who initially added the integration.

#### Field mapping: CloudTalk SMS to Salesloft Note

| **CloudTalk SMS** | **Salesloft Note** |
| - | - |
| Subject | Inbound SMS or Outbound SMS |
| Contact | Person |
| SMS message | Note |

If an SMS cannot be matched to a Salesloft person, it will be assigned to the user who initially added the integration.

> [!TIP]
>
> **Calls from unassociated numbers**
>
> When CloudTalk logs a call from a phone number that does not match any existing person in Salesloft, a new person is automatically created with the name "Unknown CloudTalk." You can then update the record with the correct details.
