# Is it possible to make outbound calls from toll-free numbers?

> Useful information regarding toll-free numbers and making outbound calls.

> **Toll-free numbers** are phone numbers that can be dialed from landlines and mobiles with **no charge** for the person placing the call. These numbers allow callers to reach businesses **without being charged with a fee**.

Toll-free numbers are mainly used for inbound **customer service calls**. In most cases, toll-free numbers are assigned to those call centers where agents handle **incoming calls**.

Toll-Free numbers can **make outbound calls** in select cases, but it's **not supported** in some countries. If the local networks detect an outbound call coming from a toll-free caller ID, the Caller ID can be hidden or the call can be blocked entirely. This is fully dependent on the local network in each country and outside of CloudTalk's control.

This feature is **not enabled by default**, so please contact our **Customer Support Team** to see if outbound calls can be enabled on your toll-free number(s).
