# Add contact

> **LEGACY.** This endpoint keeps working unchanged. For new integrations, use [Create a contact](/api-reference/contacts/create-a-contact) on `https://api.cloudtalk.io/v1`.

Creates a contact. Only `name` is required. The remaining scalar fields describe the company and postal address, and the `ContactNumber`, `ContactEmail`, `ContactsTag`, `ContactAttribute` and `ExternalUrl` arrays attach phone numbers, email addresses, tags, custom attribute values and links to external systems in the same request. Returns `201` with the new contact's ID.

Note the core API creates with `PUT`, not `POST`.
