# Add a contact tag

> **LEGACY.** This endpoint keeps working unchanged. For new integrations, use [Create a contact tag](/api-reference/contacts/create-a-contact-tag) on `https://api.cloudtalk.io/v1`.

Creates a contact tag with the given `name`. Returns `201` with the new tag's ID.

Note the core API creates with `PUT`, not `POST`.
